About Brew Free or Die

Our Story

Brew Free or Die is New Hampshire's first homebrew club, founded in January 1991 by a small group of dedicated homebrewers with one goal in mind: to celebrate good beer and great friends.

Over three decades later, BFD has grown into a vibrant community of 100+ members representing every level of brewing experience โ€” from those planning their very first batch to seasoned veterans with years of all-grain brewing under their belts.

Our members brew beer, mead, and cider using all-grain, extract, Brew In A Bag (BIAB), and countless other methods. Whatever your approach, there's a place for you at BFD.

What We Do

BFD meets once a month to share homebrews, swap recipes and techniques, and simply enjoy each other's company. Beyond monthly meetings, the club also:

  • Hosts the New England Regional Homebrew Competition (NERHBC)
  • Organizes small club competitions at meetings
  • Participates in Big Brew Day โ€” brewing together at a member's home
  • Attends the Homebrewer's Jamboree to share brews with New England clubs

Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced brewer, BFD is the perfect place to learn, grow, and share your passion for craft brewing.
